HELP - advice needed - SHIVERS

Hi all,

please help i'm after some advice. my 12 year old TB gelding (Charlie) has shivers and after some research have found that dietary supplements can help. (epsm studies in usa)

- any suggestions ? what have any of you tried / heard about ?

- what's best - heavy / light exercise ?

- they say there's no cure and will eventually get worse (is this true !?!)

he's an ex-racehorse, + point 2 point & hunted
i hack him out 2 -3 times a week + I try and lunge him twice a week (max 30 mins per session). we both want to do some dressage competions next year (both novices !) but also would like to hunt him.

- is jumping going to make him worse, quicker ?

he's a part of the family and is never going to be "written of", i just want to know what's best for him.

thank you in anticipation.
