Hong Kong 7's

Comment:

A big congrats to Kelly and Arielle who are both representing Canada at the Hong Kong 7's tournament at the end of this month! Considering there are only 10 travelling players, a 20% Nomads representation ain't too shabby! Great work ladies... good luck in HK - can't wait to see your games!

Canada's 1st game report card:

Comment:

Canada: Exploded out of the blocks in the first game of the day and were hugely impressive for over an hour against Scotland where they wrapped up their bonus point early. Petered out later in the game as they used their replacements bench but it was a job well done and management cannot fail to be pleased with that first effort in a game where their offloading and line-breaks caught the eye.
Star performer: Number 8 Kelly Russell.
Verdict: As good a start to hope for.

Lovin' the last couple of posts... Laura working at the grassroots level, building up a program frought with challenges (and single-handedly at that) ... Kelly working at the international level, demonstrating the ongoing committment and talent it takes to perform and produce with consistency... two sides of the same coin, thank you for your efforts, you guys are inspirational... you are representing your community, your country, your club and your sport so well. We are proud of you!!!

Long time, boys. As some of you know, I play rugby for the New York Athletic Club. This weekend, we're going to be playing in San Francisco for the national championship. In the past, the game has been broadcast on ESPN classic. Unfortunately, this year all we've got is a live webcast. As of now, it looks like I'll be starting at second row. So hook the computer up to the TV (maybe Scally's?), grab a couple of beers, and watch us win a national championship.
