This used to be the Guestbook for the popular website, hayesmiddlesex.com which sadly no longer exists. Sorry about that. Many of the photos submitted to the site live on in the albums at westlondonchat.com/photos (if that still works when you see this!) |

I would love to contact the boys and girls from Gledwood Park Junior School Raymond Canavan, Kenneth Ovenden, Graeme Mc Cleod, Caroline Wigamore, Brian Lewis, and my cousin Peter White. Hayes in those days was a great place for a child to grow up. Currently I live in Canada and have done so for 40YRS I\'d love to hear from anyone of this era. |

Memories of Hayes? |
Too many to re-call. But as I went to Townfield junior and secondary modern school, 1952-58 I wonder if anyone remembers me. I recall many faces but names are a bit thin - a guy called Ian who went onto work for Trico on the Gt West Road at Brentford. And a blond-haired girl called Lesley who lived in Botwell Crescent, near Hayes Park, in 1958, and went to Townfield SM girls school whom I met when I was in shorthand and typing classes and later at evening school. Lesley went onto work for EMI. |

Soooo many. I even saw pictures of coldharbour Farm Which used to be just opposite wher i live...i think its cotmans close now! Remember..Going to Paynes gift shop with my mum...and there used to be a tiny little toy shop opposite where cancer research shop is now... And you used to bea able to walk through hays town...without having to look at litter and graffitti, and gangs of hoodies! I remember lillies and if you was nice th lady used to give you an apple...and people always were nice and polite and had time to stop and say hello. My mum was the manageress in lillies and in then in the little sub post office. |

I was there visiting my Father in 2009 for his 80th birthday. I have been back every two to three years and Hayes is no the same by a long shot. When I was a kid there was well kept rose gardens and lawns in the public places they seem to have disappeared, the town looks cheap and dirty. I am glad I no longer live there but I miss some of the old days. |
