Maine's Upper Androscoggin River

Androscoggin River Report
Water temp 59.64 Flow rate 4827 CFS @ Mead Westvaco in Rumford. I have fished and guided several days with varied success. Fishing for Trout was steady with a nice two pound Rainbow and a three pound Brown taken above Bethel. We took a number of small Browns on the last outing, as well.
The Smallies have been fishing well for the last two weeks or more. Some days they are every where and hard on the feed and other days It is just steady . I was out this morning and caught a nice two pounder on my way to do some shopping . it’s nice to be able to do that.
I fished the Swift river last evening for an hour to see if I could pick anything up , but the water was moving fast ad it was hard to wade and get a good presentation. I think all the rivers will fish well as the flow drops and the water clears up.
I am pushing to fish every chance I can this month and next.
You should do the same.
