Although we didn't catch any huge fish this week, there was a good amount caught. John Mattoon and wife caught some nice salmon and trout, this was the second time John visited Rangeley, the first was about 70 years ago when he fished Kennebago Lake with his father and took the narrow gauge railroad to get there. They are from Virginia. Also from Virginia was the Dupecher family Daniel, Martha and Natalie. Martha and Natalie had never fished before. It was a very exciting trip for them as Natalie caught a 16" brook trout, Martha an 18" salmon and Daniel also caught an 18" salmon. One salmon and the brook trout went home for dinner. Saturday a.m. I fished with two young boys from Long Island N.Y. and the fishing was fast, both trout and salmon were caught. 7 salmon were boated along with 2 trout,and 4 salmon were lost. All in all it was a good week with some smiling faces.
