Area Fishing

Have you ever been told "You shoulda' been here last week!"? Well this week is the "last week" that you should be here for! To put it more succinctly, GET HERE SOON! There are still nice hatches of small dark mayflies, building hatches of caddisflies, and a secondary hatch of black flying ants (big ones) to round out much of the surface venue. There are also some of those "big-caddis things" (Zebra Caddis) beginning on Quimby Pond, and even a few Drakes spotted in some isolated areas of the region. Flows at the tailwater fisheries are real fishable, and several patrons have reported big numbers of fish caught at Upper Dam, and solid days on the Rapid and Magalloway Rivers. I must remind all though, that there are still some incredible blackfly populations out there so protect yourself as best you can. Hope if you get the chance you'll stop by and see us when you're in town
