Rangeley Lakes Fishing Report

The fishing is picking UP! The weather has turned warmer, the caddis and mayflies are hatching, the fish are rising on the rivers and ponds. Rangeley Lake is producing some nice fish, both salmon and trout. Salmon in the 3-4lb. range have been caught this week, most on the surface. The rivers are starting to produce some nice fish with brook trout in the 3lb. range being caught. The flows this past week have been reduced at the dams and the fishing is quite good. Fishing on Quimby Pond should really become active this week as the caddis hatch has begun. Magalloway River finds fishermen catching and releasing some really nice trout. Fly fishermen looking for some fine dry fly fishing should be in the Rangeley Region NOW.

Tight lines, Ray
