Finally we are getting the rains we've desparately needed. Yes, I agree it's a lot more than we needed all at once, but when you've seen two solid years of low water, you take it any way it comes. What it will mean is a great summer of fishing on the Kennebago River if the flows continue to be strong, as there are already good numbers of fish moving into the river. The tailwater fisheries at Upper, Middle, and Aziscohos Dams are all presently very (to extremely very)high flows. Again, if we're patient, it'll mean some incredible fishing for those who've missed it the last couple years during July and even August. Presently, we're seeing some small dark mayflies (#14 - 16) that are probably well represented by Dark Hendricksons or Quill Gordons. Also small small dark Caddis that are late because of the extended cold and wet conditions. Ponds, in general, like Quimby and Round Pond have had an excellent week with a variety of patterns proving successful. So don't despair, just prepare Stop by when you're in town and we'll do all we can to insure your enjoyment.
