It has stopped raining for 2 days as of today (Friday 6/14/02) but is going to start again tonight. ENOUGH ALREADY. But even with the rainy days, the fishing has been picking up. There has been some may fly hatches between the rain drops and if you happened to be there you could catch some fish. The ponds are producing some nice trout and hopefully it will continue. Fishing at the dams has been on and off according to the water flows. As of lately the dam keepers are running a lot of water trying to bring down the lake levels. When I last checked the flow rates they were all well above the " good fishing " rates and most were not fishable. Rangeley Lake is producing some nice salmon in the 3 to 5 LB. range and also some very nice plump trout, more trout this year than I have seen in a long time. The surface water temperature is very slowly starting to warm up, if you call 54 degrees warm, at this time of year the surface temperature should at least be in the low to mid 60's. Lets hope the the rain stops, the weather clears, the wind doesn't blow and the fish bite.
