Discord has announced that it is delaying its global age verification rollout, pushing the launch from March to the second half of 2026 following strong backlash from its user community. The decision comes after widespread concern over privacy, identity verification, and how the platform handles sensitive user data.

Earlier this month, Discord revealed plans to place all users into a “teen-appropriate experience” by default until they could verify their age.
