Fishing the lake in late June

Never fished the lake before. Coming in late June. What are the usual conditions and possible types of fish to angle for? Thank you.

Re: Fishing the lake in late June

Fishing in late june can be excellent using the proper equiptment. You will need either leadcore line or downriggers to get down to where the fish are feeding which will probably be in the 30' to 50' foot depth. The only fish in our waters are landlocked salmon and brook trout. The salmon can get to 7 lbs the brook trout can be 5 lbs. Yellow perch are also in the lakes but are not a game fish.

How about trolling the first week of July?

Normally I go to East Grand lake in late August, use green ghost flies w/ a dodger/leadcore about 50-70 ft deep - have some pretty good luck.

Could anyone please give me any good tips for early July trolling at Richardson lake? What depth (how many colors)should I be fishing and what color flies should I use?

Much appreciated, thanks!
