We had the best vacation at the Flamingo Cottage. The house was very clean and just steps to the pool. The beach sand was white as salt and the water was not so rought that the young children had a great time in the water. Our party of 16 was not crowded in the home and parking for 5 cars was easily managed. Thanks for sharing your home with our family. We will be back. madrid

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Flamingo Cottage. For two months of January and February we were able to escape the worst winter ever at home and trade white snow for the sugar white sands of Santa Rosa Beach. The beach access is very close and we enjoyed mixing with the residents and other snowbirds at sunset. The house is maintained very well and is spacious. My mother in law could easily have everything she needed on one level. We spent many evenings in the \"crows nest\" reading or watching tv. We love the location. Close to shopping, restaurants, Destin, Panama City, as well as the other local communities such as Seaside. There are a lot of opportunities to hear local music. We enjoyed the Songwriters Festival in late January. The owner was very accessible and helpful in getting something fixed or answering questions. In short, we liked it so much we are coming back next year!!

Flamingo Cottage is a beautiful home. Our family consisted of 10 adults and 3 children. There was a plenty of room for everyone and the kids loved the bunk bedroom. The home had all of the cooking necessities and was fully furnished with even beach toys in the garage. The home is in a nice gated community with the pool located out the back of the home. The ocean was located only about a 1 - 2 minute walk from the back door. This is our third year in a row to visit so I guess you can say we are impressed with the accomodations and with the owners. I highly recommend Flamingo Cottage for your vacation.

Seattle, WA

Our family stayed in Flamingo Cottage for three months during the snowbird season. Flamingo Cottage is located in a small gated community perched on the bluffs of Old Florida Beach. The community is quiet and very relaxing. During our three month stay it was just very peaceful and the few permanent neighbors are very sweet.

The home has a nice layout, with the majority of the bedrooms located on the first floor. The second master is right off the kitchen on the second floor, which also contains the dining room and living room. The third floor (my favorite) is the tower off/bedroom which has panoramic views of the neighborhood and the Gulf.

The house probably sleeps 15 comfortably, although it was just the two of us and our two kids. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. The kitchen is stocked for a lot of guests, plenty of everything if you\'re the self-catering type. The beach (which is amazing) is literally a five minute walk while the community pool is steps out the back door.

Gulf Place is a short walk up 30-A and has several very good restaurants and shops. Goatfeathers is right up the road (perhaps 10 minutes from the front door) and has one of the best fish markets in the area. We *really* enjoyed our evening walks down to Goatfeathers with the kids, purchasing whatever came in fresh that day and strolling back to cook a leisurely dinner.

A great experience, so good in fact we decided to stay in the area :)

Great place and location. Had 4 of my kids and their families and 7 grandchildren. The beach is wonderful and was easy to get to. The house met our needs even with our big family. Had a couple of cool days so we went to the Navy Air Museum in Pensecola and saw the Blue Angels practice. Awesome experience. Went to a couple of beautiful state parks and did some shopping. We have been to Florida allot over the past 40 years but Flamingo Cottage and the surrounding area was special and unique. Great memories.

Nashville

Our family stayed at Flamingo Cottage during November 2012 and had the most amazing vacation. Over the week we had over 22 family members visit and create memories that will last for a life time. The home as beautiful ocean and lake views and the home is well decorated within a gated community that provided excellent security. Flamingo Cottage was within a 10 - 15 minute drive to the San Destin outlets that were incredible and a must for the shoppers. We will be back!

We've lost count, but I think this may have been our 6th time staying at Flamingo Cottage! I probably don't need to say anything else, the fact that we return year after year says it all. It's situated perfectly: close to the absolutely glorious beach, the lake, and the pool. It's close to plenty of options for any type of shopping you need. If we lived on the east coast I know we would visit way more often. We always look forward to our visits to Santa Rosa Beach.

What a charming and wonderful place! We found Flamingo Cottage last minute for Labor Day weekend this year and I'm so glad we did. We were going during a tropical storm but we were determined to go to Florida for the weekend. Because we stayed in the house for most of the weekend it was essential the house was comfortable and have some charm. It was both. We had a great weekend and we can really see ourselves coming here again and again. Hopefully next time we'll have better weather though.

We stayed at Flamingo Cottage this past July 2011. Our family of 14 had an awesome time as the home accomodated our family really well. We really enjoyed the home being so close to the pool and having the great ocean views. This community is gated which worked well with the kids with skateboards and bicycles riding in the street. Keep a week open for us in 2012 because we are coming back.

We stayed at this charming home for the months of Jan. & Feb. 2010.
Unfortunately it was really chilly in Florida this year, however, we loved the home and it is very well equipped with everything you would need for any length of time. We highly recommend it. The only thing we were disappointed in was the fact that the fireplace is not a working one! We could have used it on those very cold nights in Jan. and Feb.

Our stay here was incredible. This house is beautiful and we were very happy with all the amenities that the home offered. We were here in September and the beaches and neighborhood were deserted, except for us. It was like having the whole place to ourselves. We are already planning our return trip. We would like to thank you for allowing us to spend our family reunion in your beautiful home. The home was well furnished and Goatfeathers Restaurant just around the corner was a big hit with the family. The home was so close to the pool we watched the children play and have a great time. The beach was truely just 50 yds from the home and the beach was so wide, we all played volleyball, even Mom and Dad. We want the same week next year.

Finally we were brave enough to vacation outside of Seaside...and fell in love with Santa Rosa Beach. The house was one of the nicest homes we've rented in Florida, great floorplan for a family, large or small. And it's equipped with everything any family will need or want. Steps from the pool, and a short (very short) walk to the nicest beaches we've seen. This is a peaceful, quiet, gated community next to a beautiful lake (perfect for fishing) and georgous beach, located between Seaside and SanDestin. You won't be disappointed. We were at Flamingo Cottage Aug.13-20, and we had a wonderful time. The house is more beautiful than the photos. We had everything we needed, from beach chairs to the blender!!! We even left some floats for the next person to enjoy at the wonderful pool. The food at Goatfeathers and Elmo's was awesome. The crab legs were scrumptious. We want to thank John and Julie for allowing us to stay in their home, and the pictures of them in the house, made you feel like you were family!!
