My great-great grandfather, John William Mouser, enlisted in Co.C of the Eighth in 1862. He was living in Mt. Pleasant, MI then, later moved to Ithaca, buried in Fritz Cemetary, Ithaca, MI. I have other genealogical info if you would like. Thank you for keeping history alive!!! |

Born and raised in Michigan. Great Grandfather served in the 8th Michigan. Alonzo Newton enlisted @ Rose Michigan and mustered out due to illness in front of Perersburg, Va. He became very ill in the campaign near Vickburg and although he served for many more months never recovered from his illness. Eventually received a pension. What other history is available on unit. Any pictures? |
