My wife and I are seeking a sheltie puppy this coming spring. Our current beloved sable male, Walker, is 13 and is slowing down after a happy, healthy wonderful life with us. Our second Sheltie, and Walker's best friend, Gracie, was a tri - she died last summer from cancer after 8 years, and we've been deliberately seeking breeders whose dogs and philosophy match our idea of the ideal Sheltie for us. We'll be looking for a tri, as a home dog, with alert and loyal personality, by mid to late February; although we can travel to see the dogs in January, we're on a couple of week vacation from 1/19/13 - 2/5/13 - then home for the spring.
As it turns out, I'm work as an Emory University executive, also in the school of medicine and Emory Healthcare, as President of The Emory Clinic - so looking forward to getting acquainted on that basis as well. Look forward to heaving from you soon.

We are naming him Wellington's Copper Knight and I just wanted to let you know that at 11 mos he just received is AKC Canine Good Citizen Certification. He is a brilliant and sweet dog. I am interested in your sheltie, Lana. She is so beautiful and the right age for me. I am looking for a companion/pet but would love to have a retired champion. I recently lost my beloved sheltie to kidney failure. I do have a 15 y.o. collie. She is quite arthritic and I'm not sure how much longer I will have her.

How do you think Lana would be with an older dog? My collie is mostly in the house. I have a dog door and fenced yard and she goes out when she needs or wants to. I would hope Lana would do the same.
