We have a miniature schnauzer, who is about 6 months old, I think he has lost all of his deciduous teeth except his canines. They are still in on the top and the bottom, and his adult teeth are growing in behind them. How long should we wait to take him to the vet or is there a chance that they may come out by themselves? I have read about the decay that could happen and also the bite could be affected.

It's time now to take him to the vet and get those retained teeth taken out. It is unlikely that they will fall out by themselves at this stage.

Normally, I extract them at the same time of the neuter. Have you thought about doing that too?
