I have been advised to hand walk (20-30 mins every day) my little pony following the medication of his hocks (whilst he is undergoing further veterinary investigation) for the next 3 weeks.
I am new to this area and have no idea where I can take him. He is stabled at Ewyas Harold (South Hereford).
I would be grateful for any help and suggestions please.
to be honest, 30 minutes a day isn't long at all so once you've gone in one direction for 15 minutes and then back to your yard again you'll probably find that you've done a mile or so.
I should imagine in Ewyas Harold there are a few quiet lanes to walk along?
Thank you for taking the time to reply. Hand walking around the lanes around here doesn't come recommended!! I think 'how to drive around horses' should be factored into the driving test!! heheheee
I'm all sorted, well, for now. We have our (what could only be described as, enormous!!) lateral extensions on his hind shoes, so we are now back doing walk and trot under saddle.
My poor boy, he was very unimpressed when I presented him with the saddle this morning!! He did seem to enjoy his daily walk!! :O)
