Hi, has anyone else experienced this? Just been out to try and ride my horse, when I attempted to bridle him he reacted quite violently and I've noticed he has white scabs in one ear. He's had them for a bit and it hasn't really bothered him, but they suddenly seem to be really painful now! He wears a fly mask and is treated with deosect fly repellant. Is there anything else I can do to stop him suffering?
sounds like aural plaques - I don't have any first hand experience of them myself but if you google it, lots of info and advise comes up on the internet.
my horse has had this since he was 3 (hes now 13) and it has not caused him any pain, and doesnt seem to irritate him, but I cant touch his ears as people have tried to put cream in them previously which he didnt like, so I just leave them alone and put a fly mask on. The vet said they are not treatable.
