Backbury Hill

Back in 2010 Herefordshire Council made an order to register a footpath over Backbury Hill in Mordiford, with much of the user evidence being equestrian. I objected considering that with equestrian user evidence it ought be a bridleway, and the order has at long last been sent to PIN's to be determined. The initial equestrian user evidence was gathered by Parish Council in the early 1990's, and I enquire if anyone used to ride over Backbury Hill and would support this objection by providing a written statement saying they used to ride, or knows of anyone who did who may support the objection, seeking its registration as a bridleway ?

Re: Backbury Hill

Hi I used to ride this area extensively, I think in 2005 when I kept a horse on edge of Mordiford woods. I have my diaries somewhere so can check dates. Clearly I would have to check the route to see if it's the way I went before I can provide a statement. How do I contact you please?

Re: Backbury Hill

Are you looking for people who have ridden the Mordiford area prior to the 1990's or since then? I have ridden the area since 2000 but have used the paths marked on the OS map. Is this one of those paths or a different one?

Re: Backbury Hill

A different one, and if send me an email I can reply with the details.

Re: Backbury Hill

This has now got to the Planning Inspectorate stage, and it would be helpful if any who rode over Backbury Hill back in the 1990's were to write to The Planning Inspectorate, 3/25 Hawk Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Bristol, BS1 6PN quoting reference FPS/W1850/7/11 saying so, and saying this ought be recorded as bridleway, not footpath, by the 26th of January.

Sally, am advised you could link this to Facebook ?
