This was organised by the Golden Valley Pony Club last Sunday (22.5.16) & deserves a mention as a particularly good outing IMO.



So many local FRs advertise '10 miles' & are nothing of the sort, but this one was advertised as 12 miles, & I Garmin'd 22.75km, which was noted by the RO when I told her. Excellent going on long field margins & across field canters, with what I categorise as a range of SAFE jumps. (So often the jumps, some temporary for the day, are bl**dy dangerous IMO!). There were some steeper & wooded areas as well & a few tracks & very little tarmac. The signage (on paper plates) was perfect, good stewarding at the one serious road crossing (we'd gone under it earlier) as well as at gates where there were sheep, etc. VERY well thought through & executed! Stunning countryside & views.
