Job Description

The Community Service Officer is a non-sworn civilian member of the Police Department. The primary focus of this position is parking enforcement. This position includes other responsibilities, some of which are: traffic-control, report writing, accident investigation, court appearances, and other duties assigned by the shift supervisor.


Requirements

This position requires the ability to read and understand complex instructions both written and oral. Applicants must be able to sit, stand or walk, for long periods of time. Applicants must also be able to run a distance over 50 yards.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants must have excellent written and oral communication skills to interact with the public and other City employees. The Community Service Officer works an 8-hour shift, and reports to the Traffic Sergeant. Hours of work may vary between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm and will include some weekend duty.


Salary

This position has a starting hourly rate of $16.87. Extensive benefits are included. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
