We only have one CSO..me. I am required to wear a ballistic vest and carry OC, radio, and phone. No cuffs or tazer. I take cold calls (no suspects) and enforce city ordinances as well as state parking regulations. I am not supposed to be around bad guys or back up patrol so, according to the Chief, shouldn't need additional equipment. What is supposed to happen and what does are sometimes two different things. I wear a grey shirt and dark blu pants. We do not have more than one level CSO although I would like to see that so I won't hit the top of my pay scale in a couple years. Keizer CSO's don't handle crashes or transport although I would like to get that approved as a duty for another level. Today there was talk of making me a truck inspector.
