I need help with a name

I am a manager of the Security, Fire and Life Safety Department for the concessionaire at Yosemite National Park. We are actively recruiting "security guards" for the department, hence the problem - our officers do so much more than security; they are in essence the private version of Community Service Officers. We are trying to think of a new job title that accurately defines what they do. Any ideas or suggestions?

Re: I need help with a name

Well - you could go with something along the lines of:

National Park Safety and Security Officer
or
National Park Public Safety Officer

Re: Re: I need help with a name

How about Ranger Support Officer?

Dave:

I totally agree w/ the title of National Park Public Safety Officer.

If your officers are doing more than just "security", they need to be shown that respect. It may just be only a "title", but just the little thing can mean them taking a little more pride in the job.

In addition to the title, please make sure that you provide them with all the opportunities for additional training and equipment to be as successful in their position. Remember, the more training opportunities that your department provides, the more valuable that officer becomes to your department. It's always better to provide more training than to not have enough training.

Thank you for your time at Columbia J.C.

Mr. Sexton; Thank you for inspiring my self, and giving me hope that a real career oppourtunity that I can give back to public, my family , environment, and be extremely proud of is tangible. Yosemite, as Jhon Muir implied is heaven on earth. I am willing to do whatever, whenever, and with great care and dilligence if I am lucky enough to get the oppourtuntiy. Have a great day and look forward to corresponding with you.
Sincerely; Brian Griffin
