I had a minor misdemeanor conviction 7 years ago that i had expunged, I have a ba degree in criminal justice and have also graduated from the citizens police academy, would the misdemeanor conviction eliminate me from a cso job? i have herd that felonys eliminate you but what about misdemeanors?

This will not hurt your chances at all, not even for a police position. It may not even come up when they do a background check.

Right - it won't come up in your BG investigation. But if your required to do a poly (police position) then you will need to own up to it and explain what happened before hand.

I am taking the written test next Friday for a position in Northern Cali and I'm trying to gain all the info that I can about the process. So far, I can't find any study guides geared for the CSO. Any advice? Are CSO"s required to take a poly and a psych?
