The City of Chicago is considering naming a street in honor of the
former Chairman of the Illinois Black Panther Party and avowed cop
killer Fred Hampton, Sr. This street is to be named "The Honorable Fred
Hampton Way." Just so you know, although the son is nor responsible for
the sins of the father, Fred Hampton, Jr., is also considered a domestic
terrorist and cop hater. I ask that you please take the time to visit

Please sign this petition to Mayor Daley begging that this disservice to
Law Enforcement not go as planned.

I was a Chicago Police Officer during that tumultuous time, and I had
one friend who was shot by a member of the Illinois Black Panther Party.
I also remember two officers, Gilhooly and Rappaport, who were ambushed
and killed by the members of the Illinois Black Panther Party. This
group spewed racist hatred and a cop killing mentality. This, to me,
isn't even close to an issue of race, it is an issue of right over
wrong.

This would be a disgrace to all of law enforcement and I know my friends
and colleagues at the Chicago Police Department would be so grateful for
your support. Please help spread the word far and wide to all your
