THE MEMORY OF SITES ARE EXPERIENCING NOT ONLY DIFFICULTIES BUT A TROJAN VIRUS IS SPREADING...90091E IS A MALWARE CODE THAT KEEPS APPEARING. ONCE YOUR COMPUTER IS INFECTED THE VIRUS WILL WORM INTO YOUR COMPUTER AND HIDE FROM YOUR VIRUS PROTECTION LEADING YOU TO BELIEVE THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE IT. DO NOT GO ON THE MEMORY SITES AS THIS VIRUS WILL DESTROY YOUR COMPUTER AND ALL YOUR FILES YOU HAVE ON IT.
Thank you for telling us about this virus. When will it be safe to go back on? Any clues? Oh this is our lifeline to our kids I hope none of us have it already how did you find out? I'm trying to figure out if I have it already what do you suggest? How do we tell all those family and friends not to go on? So many questions but this is devestating.Any news you can share will be appreciated. Love Barb
Brittany Siefert's Gramma Rose has been keeping us up to date on the issues of the memory of websites and their difficulties. You should email anyone who might be visiting the pages to let them know of the situation. Because of the types of these infections it is sometimes difficult to tell if you have them or not but if you have had any unusual pop ups when you were on or activity on your computer that might be one way to tell. Unusual icons or being redirected to unknown sites...some have actually been redirected to porn sites and some have been in Chinese....are one way of knowing that your system has been compromised. These infections disguise themselves as actual virus removal programs and tell you that you have a virus and ask you to run a removal tool to delete them WHEN THAT IS ACTUALLY THE INFECTION ITSELF...DO NOT CLICK ON ANYTHING LIKE THIS IF IT IS NOT YOUR CURRENT ANTI-VIRUS PROGRAM. Also be sure that what you are seeing is your current antivirus program as once again they are disguised to resemble legitimate antivirus systems. I wish I knew more right...We too are anxiously awaiting as Lisa's site is a huge part of our daily computer activity.
Shoot. I just went on kaylin's. Hope I didn't get anything. I did notice that I would get an error message so I pray I don't have it already. Thanks for telling us Laura.
Do you mean any of the memory sites? How will we know when it is safe to go on?
Any news on this? I'd like to try and start doing St. Paddy's day stuff, as hard as it is, there are days that I like doing it then some days i'm just to sad.
According to memory of...they have claimed to have removed the virus from the sites and feel it is safe to go back on them. I would with caution and just pay close attention to any unusual pop ups or other activity just to be sure they did indeed remove it. I say that because of how long it took them to do this and to get the sites up and running again.
I had withdrawal today big time. I check her site alot. I think I will wait a few more days though just to be safe. Thanks for telling us about this. I had no idea. I just knew I went to her site a couple of times and got a message it was not there and then poof there it was.
I'm still having problems I went to light candles for our angels and the only one I was able to do it for was for Kim. The window would keep going up or down, then when I'd start typing in the spot for the candle it would stop typing and then pop down again, it was weird.
anyone else having problems still???
Yes Bette we too are having difficulties with Lisa's site working properly. So I guess what they said was they removed the virus they failed to tell us they still haven't fixed the sites yet! What worries me is the virus got into the system while they were working on it and so if they are still working on it is the system still comprimised enough that a different one could get in or the same one return? Not sure so I am proceeding with caution...I have to take a peek every now and then but I am not on her site like I would normally be until the whole thing is resolved...we are leaving messages through FindaGrave until then...Luv ya...Laura & AV
**DO NOT VISIT MEMORY-OF.COM UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE**
As you may be aware, Memory-Of.com made a significant upgrade to our server capacity and web-hosting solution in the last week of February. It appears that the industry-standard anti-virus software provided and managed by the hosting company we use was improperly configured by the hosting company following the server upgrade. Unfortunately, Memory-Of.com was the target of a virus attack from hackers based in Asia in the first week of March. The virus was promptly removed, but has since resurfaced. Please note that on Friday March 13th, the viru s had been successfully removed, but has resurfaced yet again. We are currently working hard to find, remove and prevent the virus from infecting Memory-Of.com. Please be aware that it takes time to scan and locate the virus before the work begins to safely remove it.
Until the virus is removed and your safety is guaranteed, the Memory-Of.com mail server is unable to send mass email communications to the Memory-Of.com community. Until you receive a formal notification from Memory-Of.com, we advise you not to visit Memory-Of.com or any personal sites hosted by Memory-Of.com. We also ask for your kind help to notify other Memory-Of.com members of the current situation.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation. We have been operating Memory-Of.com for nearly four years and we know how distressing the current situation is for our members. Please be assured that Memory-Of.com will be restored to safety no matter what it takes.
THE MEMORY OF SITES STILL HAVE YET TO BE CLEARED BY THE MEMORY OF STAFF AND ARE STILL SHOWING TO BE INFECTED BY SYMANTEC'S WEBSITE CHECKER. ALSO MANY USERS ARE STILL GETTING DANGEROUS SITE WARNING WHEN ATTEMPTING TO GO THERE.

I have not been able to visit my son's website, which I paid for. Please use Last Memories if you want good customer service and stay well away from Memory Of.com, they are not reliable and just leave you hanging in the breeze without follow ups, unless you follow up with them!!!!!
Hi Laura and AV
any more news on the Memory-of site? It is just awful that so many have paid for websites for our loved ones and they have not yet communicated once that there is a problem. I thought surely they would have by now, but have been sadly disappointed. I have been wanting to visit my sons site and so afraid it will ruin my computer. Thanks for the Symantec site so I continue to check there. Just wondering if you have had any communiation from ANYONE at memory-of??? This is AWFUL customer service and I am thinking of maybe writing the BBB to complain. I wonder if they are governed by them as they may be based out of the States though. I am just mad today and this is not helping.
Hoping all is well with both of you and all the MOMs.
mom of Joshua Delaney
Yes I was wondering the same thing any more news? I wrote them an email and never heard back from anyone at all.
Just so you know I did pay for a month for Timmy's new site hoping the memory-of comes back soon without virus'. It should take affect in 6 hours or so, so just in case anyone goes there it will be up by the end of the day. I figured I'll do amonth for now and it the memory-of doesn't come back on line soon without any bugs on it, I'll do an annual fee.
Please let us know if anyone hears anything about the memory-of site.
