Re: Re: Coaching in the USA

Ged,

A mate of mine went out to NY a couple of years back and said that he would recommend it to anyone. The pay is ok, you can easily get paid more by coaching for a football in the community scheme in the UK but the experience is something money cant buy.

You also get quite a bit of free stuff in terms of coaching equipment and clothing which you get to keep. Also if you pick the right company you often get free trips etc. depending on where you are coaching. My mate was in NY state and got free tours of NY City just beofre 9/11.

The coaching experience is second to none. I was told that the american kids have a total different attitude so you pick up new skills in dealing with people.

I am hoping to go to America next summer when I am at Univeristy for a few weeks either to NY/New England or California.

Ged,

Thats for the reply about tristate. The average wage is between $200 and $250 Dollars. Which is around £140-160. Remember who still have to pay social securty, which will leave you with around £110 a week, and after that depending on the company who may have to pay utilities bills which can run upto $60 a month etc.

Let me know if u need any more info,
