rangely lake tips

I am coming to fish Rangeley Lake this coming week( Sept 17th--)any help with the depth to fish for brook trout would be great --thank you, Mike-- Gilbert,Az

Re: rangely lake tips

Mike, The nights have cooled down to the low 40's and the water is also cooling down. Fish had been down as deep as 65' but are now from 40' up to 25'.
Keep tabs on your depth finder as some fish may still be deeper.

Re: rangely lake tips

I'll be coming up for the weekend of the 25th. I heard the rivers are dry so we will be trolling the river mouths for staging fish.

We will likely use sewn smelt and the standard fare such as DB, wooblers, etc.

This will be my first time trolling the lakes, we expect to try Rangeley River, Kennebago and Cupsuptic inlets.

Is this fishing technique limited to the early morning and/or late in the day, or is this an all day technique with the use of lead core and riggers?

Any other thoughts would be welcome.
