My 8yr old son and i are fishing the lakes for the first time.(June 26&27) We are looking for lots of help, like time of day, depth range, types of streamers and places on the lakes.

Both lakes you will probably have your best luck early in the morning. I would run around 30 ft, that seems to be where things are happening.

Hi, The best fishing is usually at daybreak as the salmon will be near the surface at that time. During the day the salmon and brook trout are being caught at depths between 40 and 65 feet deep. Some of the good areas are the State Park, the area near Hunter cove and Bonnie Point and the area around Doctors Island.
Best lures are DB Smelt Top Gun and Sewn on smelt.
