Re: Rangeley Lake tips?

As of now fish are from surface to 40'. Water is very cold, air temp this A.M. was 28 degres with snow. There have been some 5 to 61/2 lb. salmon and some 4lb. brook trout caugh already this season. Beat baits have been sewn on smelt and DB smelt lures,no live fish can be used as bait.It has been very windy since the season opened.
In front of the State park is a good bet and also Greenvale Cove along with the area of south Bog Island.
Hope this helps

Headed up this weekend. Sounds like the Magalloway is good. Are they any good areas to fly fish from the shore of the lakes? I have always focused on the river networks....

Re: Rangeley Lake tips?

Most of Rangeley Lake shoreline is privately owned you may find it better to rent a boat or canoe.
