Trolling Rangeley

August fishing has been very good on Rangeley Lake.
Several salmon have been over 4 lbs and Brook trout are very plentiful with many in the 3lb range at 18-19 inches. Last week a 9 yr old client fought and lost a very big salmon right behind the boat, and another 11 yr old girl caught a 4lb salmon after an excitable battle. These fish have come from as high as 25 to 60 feet with 50 being the most active.
The trout continue to come in much better numbers than previous years, both in size and population.
The weather has definitely taken a turn for the better compared to July. I have had some beautiful days this month with a more consistent northwest wind, lower temps which means less thunder and lightning and the fish have been more active as a result.
Get up here before September 30th and spend some time on Rangeley before it's over for another year.
See you out there,
Shaun

Re: Trolling Rangeley

So the fishing is over after Sept 30. I may be there Thanksgiving weekend. Thanks Ron
