not much action happening on this site, WHY?

Hello fellow fishing nuts! I am wondering why I don't see much action at all on this site. I am from Claremont NH about 4 to 5 hours away depending on how fast you drive I quess, I am coming up to fish Rangeley the week of August 6th and I was hoping this site would give me some good info on the fishing. I've been up about 5 years ago and love this lake. I went up the same week in August and did ok, but I am looking forward to have better luck with the Salmon. Any info from anyone would be greatly appriciated. I have a couple of months so I will be checking this site from time to time....Bruce

Re: not much action happening on this site, WHY?

Hi Bruce - I will be fishing Rangeley that same week in August. My family and I go that same week every year. We stay at Sam O Set Camps. The people in the other cabins go the same week also. It looks like the fleet leaving the dock each morning, as we all have our own boat and we troll our own route. We keep in touch via radios or hand signals when our paths cross. It won't be long now. I have a blue & white Sylvan with a blue top. See you on the lake. Bob from New Jersey

Nice to hear from you Bob...I have a friend who has a friend who I will be renting their house from right on the lake..If you put the boat off from the boat public ramp by the bait shop and head completely straight all the way down the lake it turns to a shallow part just before a maze of stream like waterways that is where I am staying, theres a little cove to the right with a couple of camps, homes. I will be fishing from a blue sea nymph fishing machine. I have a radio on board as well, hope to hear from you..I will be there Sat. the 5th..what is your call name so I can get your attention? Talk later...

Re: not much action happening on this site, WHY?

They changed the format to "Rangeley fishing reports" a couple years ago. It use to have a page that had all the guides on it and each one use to give a report. It was great. It just hasn't been the same since. Too bad as someone that has a camp up there and fishes it on the weekends and vacations I really enjoyed reading them.

For those that do post reports thank you!

Re: not much action happening on this site, WHY?

I don't know what's happened to most of the other guides but I have been posting my reports as they happen. I can tell you that we have had so much rain that all the dams were running at close to max which made fly fishing almost impossible. Middle dam running at 5700cfs, Upper dam at 4000cfs and lower Magallowy at 1700cfs. They have since come down so that they are fishable. Trolling has had it's ups and downs with some nice trout from both lakes up to 41/2 lbs. Salmon are decent but no 6pounders yet.
Look for my next report
