Fly fishing big Brookies

May 22 2006, not a great day to fly fish,37 degrees, windy, and a cool drizzle. It didn't seem to matter to the fish. We were fishing a deep current coming out of a lake and the big brookies were stacked and feeding. Sinking line was needed to get down as the fish were holding deep. In about 2and a half hours of fishing 2 of us caught and released 12 or 13 fish that went from 15"to 20", all natives. It was a great day of fishing for some beautiful brook Trout that will be there for another day.
The lakes have been producing some good salmon and trout for the trollers with salmon up to 22" reported and trout to 4and 1/2 lbs. Mooselookmeguntic is now producing a lot of salmon and the size seems to be better than last year. The good size trout are just starting to hit as many nice trout have been reported.
