Family fishing

It was a nice day for family fishing on Monday of this week. The morning was spent with the Jones family of Pasadena Maryland. We left the dock at 6:30 A.M.and by 7:45 we had 6 salmon in the boat, losing a double. By the end of the morning we had caught and realeased 10 salmon. Trey, a high school junior, caught the most fish and all left with a smiley faces. The evening saw the Garrisan family also of Pasadena Maryland, with three youngsters David 15, Brad 7, and Alec 6. Quite a rivalry between the two youngest. The two little guys caught all the fish(photo to follow) but when the fishing slowed down a bit, then the battle started to see who would grab the rod first. At the end of the evening all were happy and were looking forward to the holiday festivities in Rangeley. The fly fishing is holding up real well with most of the ponds having some nice May fly hatches. Fished with Mike from New Jersey early one A.M. this week and before any hatches started I introduced him to sinking line fishing on still water. He was amazed at his ability to catch fish in this manner and caught and realeased some nice trout the largest a 16" brookie. When the fish started to rise we switched to dry flies and caught 5 or 6 more fish before the morning ended.
