More high sun and flat water conditions this week as we trolled Rangeley Lake. I again enjoyed the company of the Valentines this week, a father and son team who truly enjoy their fishing and their time together. On our morning trip we didn’t do as well as I would like, we managed to boat a few fish as well as losing a couple others. The evening fishing was much better with four fish and several strikes. Two of these salmon were 20” and pushing 3 lbs. They were both year 2000 stocked fish and if we consider Rangeley’s average growth potential these fish could be a little heavier for their age. Another morning with Paul from Conn. we boated six fish in four hours with one being a trophy female weighing 6 lbs and 25” long.
