Well it's finally here again. Real water, with real fish, and given the insect life of the past week, REAL bugs! We have had a terrific flying ant hatch since last Sunday, but the current cool temps and wet will undoubtedly suppress that. The good news is the pattern will still produce for a few more days. I'm looking for some Hendrickson or Quill Gordon types soon, but we never get too much either way. Most fishing the Rapid and Magalloway, where flows are still low, are doing it with nymphs, much of which are tiny 18's and 20's and smaller. The forecast is for cooler weather with abundant moisture potential, but we need the rain, and it will get more fish stirred up in the Rivers if flows can be bumped up a bit.
