Rangeley Area Fishing

This past spring we were wondering when it was going to stop raining, now we are praying for RAIN!!!!! The rivers and streams are almost dried up and if it doesn't rain soon the salmon and trout runs will be delayed as they were last year. It takes a good 2 or 3 day hard rain to move the fish up river. The lakes are still very warm and in order to catch some salmon and trout you must fish very deep. If you are not equipped with downriggers or lead core line your chanches of catching qualit fish are slim. We fished last week with some success 2 mornings were very good with 7 fish being caught each a.m., a mixed bag of trout and salmon none over 4 lbs. The fly fishermen will be arriving soon. WE NEED RAIN.
