Rangeley Lakes Region Fishing Report

Finally some warm weather!! The ponds have come alive with insect life and the trout are feeding on may flies, caddis, some drakes. Great dry fly fishing mostly in the evenings but also some during the a.m. With all the rain and high water the rivers are now full of fish both trout and salmon. Kennebago, Rapid and Magalloway rivers as well as Upper Dam are all producing some fine fishing. The lakes are warming up and the trout and salmon are moving down into their comfort zone where they will feed on bait fish...both smelt and dace. When releasing fish do so carefully, as trout and salmon are delicate fish, especially as the water warms. Good fishing!! Tight lines, Ray
