Fishing Rangeley Lake

Hey All!

I am going to be within the Rangeley region for about a week and I was interested in fishing. Unfortunately, I don't know the fish species biting this summer and what is the best bait and tackle to pick up, so if anyone could offer some suggestions, that would be great! Also, if anyone knows where I can rent or borrow a fishing pole for a week that would be great since I am from out of town.

Thanks to all,
Steven

p.s. is there a specific fishing license required for fishing Rangeley Lake?

Re: Fishing Rangeley Lake

The only game fish in Rangeley Lake are Landlocked Salmon and Brook Trout. You need tackle that will get you down deep(45to 65feet) Either lead core line or downriggers. You need a fishing license which is good state wide.Bring your own tackle or purchase some.
