M&E Specialist Opportunities

The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.

The Opportunity

As the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist you will support the development of an agreed and updated, consistent monitoring and evaluation approach, principles and standards for all Plan International offices.

You will support Plan International Offices and thematic networks in the implementation of the approach, standards and process for measurement, analysis and reporting on our performance and effectiveness, progress towards our outcomes and the impact of our programmes to ensure transparency and accountability to all our stakeholders.

You will also work on the development of a monitoring and evaluation system to ensure that we are able, as an organisation, to capture, analyse and report on our progress in a consistent and coherent way.

You will contribute to enhancing capacity in our offices to implement the revised principles and standards in order to generate and act on evidence to inform our programmes, influencing and learning.

The Individual

You will have expert knowledge on monitoring and evaluation of development work across a wide range of technical areas, strong understanding of rights-based development programming and demonstrated experience of developing global standards and guidance for NGO’s on M&E.

With significant experience and a strong understanding of processes, approaches, tools and methodologies that facilitate M&E, and organisational learning, you will have strong understanding of the realities of NGO programme management and limitations that impact programme monitoring, evaluation and learning.

Excellent collaboration skills will be imperative as you inspire trust and support from others and co-create across the organisation.
