TigerSwan vacancy - Monitoring Specialist

Job Title: Monitoring Specialist
Location: Work will be conducted in Sri Lanka and CONUS also

TigerSwan provides comprehensive solutions to global instability, operational risk management, logistics, crisis management, business intelligence, and security consulting services to the US Government and corporate clients.

This position is for a Monitoring Specialist to support monitoring activities in the field as requested by the Department of State. The Monitoring Specialist will be located in Sri Lanka. The Monitoring Specialist will be primarily responsible for data collection, analysis, and draft reporting activities.

Requirements and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for data collection activities during site visits, follow-up site visits, and possible work for third party evaluations. Data collection would include direct observation, conducting interviews with direct beneficiaries and selected stakeholders in- country; conducting focus group discussions; implementing surveys when required.
• Checks data quality and troubleshoots challenges when they arise
• Analyzes data collected and synthesizes research findings into succinct reporting
• Liaises and coordinates with Field Manager (and other company designees) to address missing or incomplete information
• Report to the Field Manager on a regular basis by providing a weekly activity report as required
• Work with data platforms, database, and select technologies to capture and organize data

• Demonstrated educational experience of at least a Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of study (Public Policy/Ad- ministration, Social Sciences, Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation, etc.)
• Previous experience in similar role involving monitoring
• Ability to collect and analyze both qualitative and quantitative data. Has knowledge of, and employs, industry standard of sound data collection techniques
• Ability to draft reports clearly outlining findings from data analysis
• Assists in the development of data collection tools
• Demonstrated work experience in target country where monitoring efforts are taking place
• Demonstrated skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders of different backgrounds
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and cultural awareness and sensitivity required to interact with a broad range of stake- holders.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and with a team-oriented environment
• Analytical mind, with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize deliverables in a timely manner to meet quick turn-around
• Fluent in Arabic; English speaking and writing ability desired but not required
• Understanding of digital security practices desired but not required

*In some circumstances, financial-specific monitoring will be requested to collect and evaluate financial data and synthesize appraisal research findings into audit reports. These monitors will be required to hold a degree in Accounting, or a related field, demonstrate adequate auditing and financial review experience and where necessary or requested to hold and maintain the necessary certifications such as CPA, CMA, or CIA.
