Senior PMEAL Adviser

Are you able to provide quality advice and support to strengthen the work of national humanitarian actors? Are you passionate about improving the quality and accountability of humanitarian programmes? Would you like to lead and provide strategic direction to a dynamic team of PMEAL advisers? The British Red Cross (BRC) has an exciting position as a Senior Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (PMEAL) Adviser.

The Senior PMEAL Adviser will be responsible for the strategic direction, quality, coherence and overall delivery of the technical and advisory support of the PMEAL advisory team. Working with the Programmes and Partnership Department, the PMEAL advisory team will engender good practice in planning, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning through: supporting BRC regional teams; supporting partner National Societies in Africa, Middle East and Asia to build PMEAL capacity; working with key Red Cross Movement members on strategic PMEAL related issues; and developing processes, systems and tools that support the way BRC itself works. Our overall objective is to support and facilitate quality programming and strong National Societies.

Based within our Performance and Accountability department in the International Division in London, reporting to the Head of the P&A Department ,you will lead a team of four PMEAL Advisers.

Extensive overseas experience in the humanitarian or development sector is essential, as will be your considerable practical experience in programme planning, M&E and learning particularly in a partnership context.

This role will involve international travel for up to 60 days per year and may require you to work in a physically demanding environment.
