Girl Hub Rwanda is looking for a Monitoring and Learning Coordinator based in Kigali to implement their Monitoring and Learning framework in close collaboration with other members of the Girl Hub team and international development consultants.
Girl Hub is a joint initiative of DFID and Nike Foundation whose objective is to transform societal behaviour and attitudes towards the value, voice and agency of young adolescent girls. Girl Hub Rwanda is using a variety of media, including a youth magazine and a national health programme for adolescent girls to start a “national conversation” that challenges prevailing attitudes and which provides girls themselves with opportunities to talk, share and reflect with each other. Girl Hub is also working with the Government and other partners including DFID to scale up their investments in adolescent girls and elevate girls' voice in policy making. Current programmes include catalysing an innovative national health programme for 10-12 year olds and development of a new access to finance programme. Girl Hub currently has offices in Rwanda, Nigeria, Ethiopia and London.
The M+L Coordinator will be responsible for carrying out a participatory baseline survey along with longitudinal monitoring of sub projects and national change as well as setting up and managing information systems. Integral to this post is ensuring that the Monitoring and Learning evidence feeds back into the innovative communication processes being implemented by Girl Hub as well as feeding reflective discussions at all levels, from within government and donor agencies, academic departments, civil society think tanks and the media - to build capacity for coordinating and /or being ‘intelligent consumers’ of rapid participatory research. The Monitoring and Learning Coordinator will be responsible for building and maintaining these relationships and organising activities to share learnings across organisations.
The Coordinator will also be responsible for integrating the Monitoring and Learning framework with capacity building of research facilitators drawn from communities of adolescent girls and young women who can then act as change agents in their communities and beyond.
