Job Vacancy - Senior Evaluation Advisor

The International Training and Education Center for Health (I-TECH) is a collaboration between the University of Washington and the University of California, San Francisco. It is a center in the University of Washington's Department of Global Health and has offices throughout Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. I-TECH's 700 worldwide staff work in partnership with local ministries of health, universities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), medical facilities, and other organizations to support the development of a skilled health work force and well-organized national health delivery systems. I-TECH's activities occur primarily in the technical areas of health system strengthening; health workforce development; operations research and evaluation; and prevention, care, and treatment of infectious diseases.

The Senior Evaluation Advisor will assist in the implementation and oversight of a CDC-funded public health evaluation. The evaluation looks at the effectiveness of patient empowerment training in improving patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes and quality of care of HIV patients at four Ministry of Health ART clinics in Namibia. The Senior Evaluation Advisor will liaise with in-country study staff to support high quality and timely implementation. In collaboration with in-country staff, the Senior Evaluation Advisor will establish and implement systems for on-going data quality assurance, double enter and conduct data quality checks, develop databases for data analysis, conduct statistical analysis on quantitative data (knowledge of GEE, logistics regression, and longitudinal data analysis necessary) and qualitative data, and develop and implement refresher training for study coordinators. The Advisor will also work with in-country staff to address and manage the study, with particular attention to any human resource or protocol implementation challenges that arise during the study. The Senior Evaluation advisor will also participate in manuscript development and dissemination of findings. The position will require travel to Namibia approximately twice per year.
