Tony Anthony
Hi! Justing by most reviews, Tony Anthony's book 'Taming the Tiger' has over-awed a lot of people. However, i have been researching this book and it's claims, and found it to be highly dubious. You do not need a background in kung fu (my teacher's master was Grandmaster Chen Xiao Wang, 19th generation standard bearer of the Chen clan), to see that this book is just a yarn. In the book, Mr Anthony strokes a wild tiger, rides across the desert, into the next country, on a camel just bought from Bedouin nomads. Come on! Can you just jump on a camel's back and do this? It troubles me deeply to see that Mr Anthony has been touring the country, and now the world, as some kind of charismatic evangelical speaker, recounting his tall tales. |

The guy came to a local prison with us a few weeks back and then came for a meal. Seems a genuinely nice guy with a very good gospel presentation |

If it is just a really good book, then he is a very skilled author with good morals and is able to put the important things across. Or, his story - despite being dubious - is true. Many things are dubious, like the Big Bang. It doesn't mean it's necessarily right or wrong, that most people accept it. So unless you have hard evidence against him, I'll accept that a man who is watched by God can do many marvellous things. Sorry if that sounds massively pretentious, it's too early for me! But maybe you can just "jump on a camel's back". |
