Today's word-on-the-web
Hey, i was just reading today's notes from the daily email. In it, it said: He promises peace that passes understanding, even in the midst of adversity (Philippians 4:9). He promises inexpressible and glorious joy (1 Peter 1:8) the quote i'm fine with, but the second, it doesn't really seem to be promising inexpressible and glorius joy; 1 Peter 1:8 says: "Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy" I don't mean to be picky, but it just seems to be taking it out of context. Thanks, Paul |

I agree that that particular verse is probably not promissing joy - although i think God still promises it. After all, it is a fruit of the spirit and of course God wants us to have have plenty of those fruits...so, that leads me to believe he wants us to have joy. THEOPTOMIST |
