Somebody asked him...
Do you have faith in God?
He says...
"I have seen a lot of people about to die. All of them had cried out to God for mercy. But all of them had died"

This is one of the best quote of all time.
Screw all faith and religions, it is not going to save you or help you, religions are for the ones who have done many sins and feel bad to talk to "someone" about it so they talk to themself through air, it's all in their mind, but are they psycho? yes at a point some are.
You all are going to die like everybody because you do not know in who you trust, you would have lost your Sundays for nothing, Christians are so ignorant.
I feel bad for you, but I so wish all religions would die.

Re: Quote...

See Mr Jay, I believe that God would show those guys mercy.

Mercy is more than just keeping them alive till the next thing comes along to kill them.
Mercy is about Jesus Dieing so that if they choose him they can have eternal life.

Maybe you've heard it all a hundred times maybe it's all new but that is mercy

Re: Quote...

i haven't lost my sundays, i have fantastic friends ive made through church that i would never have met otherwise.

i also know exactly who i trust, it isnt an issue for someone who is confident in themselves, i guess you havent found that yet.

also to be fair i don't feel i've done many massive things that i've needed to 'talk to someone' about, i found faith on my own. am i psycho? maybe, but explain how i can feel so much better about life with Christ in it than without, how i can wake up knowing my life is a mess, but that doesn't matter, because i am loved. nothing in society can give me that, believe me, i've tried the lot. there is just a big black hole of nothingness that leads to depression there. and no, its not just a way of making myself feel better and create some kind of meaning for life, its real, i didnt invent it.

millions of people die all the time, there is nothing we can do to stop that, **** happens ya know? an you know why? because we chose that path in the garden. we had the choice and we made the wrong one, dont blame religion for the screwedupness in this world, God didn't create it, we did.

hmm guess im just in a bad mood tonight, sorry. just don't dismiss things because of what someone else said, you have to find out for yourself- go read the bible, have discussions, find out the facts first hand. only then are you allowed to have an opinion on the matter and mock it. until then, don't knock it, its the worst mistake you could ever make.

grrrr.i think im done.

Re: Re: Quote...

God 'banished' Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden because they had given in to temptation that was ultimately from Satan. God allowed them to sin because of free will, if there was no free will, yeah this world would be perfect, but we wouldn't be able to make real decisions by ourselves and we wouldn't be able to 'choose' to believe the evidence that he's provided.

Yeah, Eve was the one who got tempted first, but Adam is just as/or more responsible as he gave in to the temptation from Eve when he knew it was wrong.

The screwedupness of this world is down to Adam and Eve because the moment they gave in to temptation and let sin in, a whole load of other evil things came into the world, such as decay/lifetime; the earth is decaying: global warming, more frequent and more destroying natural disasters. But God did not create evil. Evil is the absence of Perfectness or God (just like their is no such thing as darkness: scientists believe darkness is the absence of light and there is no such thing as coldness but it's just the absence of heat) and origionally came from Satan. Satan is a fallen angel because before the earth, God created his angels but like humans, he gave them free will so they could choose to do his work. Unfortunately Satan got jealous of God, which is also a part of free will and 'fell from grace.'

This is why he wants to influence as much evil in this world so he can have a greater kingdom than God, with more 'followers' as anyone who does not receive God's grace is not allowed into heaven. But this is going off the point...

Ok Razten, so if we’re such a ‘weak species’ and there is no God, how do you explain miracles and healings which are still frequent in this world which I have witnessed?

Some of us have faith enough to see beyond the grave, Jay. We have experienced the goodness of God and his steadfastness. We have believed in his word [the scriptures]. You are right. People do call out to God in their distress but it is better to call out to someone in whom they know and have a personal relationship with than to call out to an unknown God. Jesus said that you must be born again; born of the water AND the spirit.

How do I know there is a God ?

I serve a risen Savior, He's in the world today;
I know that He is living, whatever men may say;
I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer,
And just the time I need Him, He's always near.

He lives- He lives- Christ Jesus lives today!
(He lives) (He lives)
He walks with me and talks with me, along life's narrow way.
He lives- He lives- Salvation to impart!
(He lives) (He lives)
You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart.

In all the world around me I see His loving care,
And though my heart grows weary I never will despair;
I know that He is leading through all the stormy blast,
The day of His appearing will come at last.

Rejoice, rejoice O Christian, lift up your voice and sing
Eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the King!
The Hope of all who seek Him, the Help of all who find,
None other is so loving, so good and kind.

Re: Quote...

ok thats not proof of 'God' lance thats a poem written by man for man.
as is the scriptures. even if it is the word of 'God'.

i think that because one person has the guts to say that on here, it proves he has some spirit, and that he obviously wants to learn (erm hello he is on a christian site >

Re: Quote...

sorry i just re read this thread, and theres some serious flaws int his argument.

"no expert,so don't tear me up,its just my thoughts..." said that we created the screwedupness in our world. but if only "god" can create how did we do that?

oh and if you go by the bible, it was Eve's choice.
she persuaded Adam to have some of the fruit and thus got him kicked out of Eden.

also "God" banished them. which means that unless he had created some place for them to be, he banished them into nothingness.

if we go by the bible, "God" did create the world, and he created this as a prison for our first sin. so we can blame "God" for how screwed up the world is, cause if it's all loving, then it wouldnt of kicked us out of the garden anyway.
but explain how i can feel so much better about life with Christ in it than without, how i can wake up knowing my life is a mess, but that doesn't matter, because i am loved
erm thats because the human is very open to suggestion.
if yoo think your loved you are, if you think that you feel better with christ you suddenly will feel better.
if you believe yourself to be ill, you become ill.
thats why we're such a weak species.

so yeah dont argue against people like that without working your arguement through.
cause Jay's point still stands, we have no clue what happens when we die, and we dont know if "god" even exists.

Re: Quote...

I would have taken this discussion much more seriously if the opening comment hadn't been quite as rude.

Next time one of us tries to convince the other of an argument, we should try not to insult them first.

Besides, the opening argument is fatally flawed - it assumes that all Christians believe in an after life, that all Christians go to church and generally that all Christians think / act the same way. Fortunately, we do not. How dull the world would be without the colours of diversity.

In light of this, I feel that the post is a case of the pot calling the kettle ignorant.

Re: Quote...

I would recommend you attend an Alpha Course, it wont cost you anything but your time.

Go there with an open mind and listen, ask questions and let things be explained by practisingChristians. Once you have finished then you will have a better insight into how Christianity works.

I know a number of christian's that don't have this depth of knowledge/awareness, I believe it would/does strengthen ones understanding and faith.

But also to the none believing it would give a more accurate understanding, rather than getting opinions from (sometimes) less accurate or sources.

I truly hope that one day, whether by suprise (mine was)or by subtle means, that you do become aware of how it all works.

I personally KNOW it is true that God and Jesus are Alive (ask for more info), and that there are sadly doubts for some. I hope I can learn to communicate better the how's and why's of all this as time goes by. In the meantime I suggest you find a place running the Alpha course, go with a peaceful mind that gives them a chance to explain it all clearly to you.

I would also suggest that you push other thoughts to one side and say a prayer to God and Jesus asking for them to make things clearer to you on how it works. Asking for you to see/feel this from them without you being obstructive. Then go start reading the new testament and see how you feel, but without a dismissive approach.

When you are trying food you have never herd or or seen before, you sample it and see how it tastes, feels and effects you. I really recommend you give God a chance from this approach and see how it goes, maybe one day we will meet and have cause to smile with Joy over all this.

Until then take care.
PS. Real tired at the moment so forgive typo's etc.

Morgon.
