Message:   "Amos & Andrew" is a 1993 comedy starring Nicolas Cage, Samuel L. Jackson & Dabney Coleman. In this movie, Cage plays a small time criminal who's been arrested by a small town Police Chief (Coleman). Sam Jackson plays a rich man who moves to this small town. When a nosey couple notice Jackson in their neighbors house, they assume he's a theif simply because he's black. This sets off a chain of events that leads to trouble for all involved.

Initially, the police show up & open fire on Jackson & his home after one officer claims that Jackson had a gun. Once they find out that Jackson is actually a rich man, they go back & bring in Cage. They cut a deal w/him. He's supposed to act like he's taking Jackson hostage & then leave town w/the help of the police. This is supposed to bail them out of an embarrising situation. However, the national media shows up & the Police Chief wants to take advantage of the spotlight. After all, it is election year!

The Chief renegs on the deal w/Cage & turns it into a huge event. Cage actually has to take Jackson hostage to escape. Meanwhile, the Chief later becomes a hostage himself. Some comedic moments ensue along w/alot of racial commentary. This movie is listed as a comedy & promoted as one, but there are some definate statements being made here.

Overall, it's not bad, but not the best performances from Cage nor Jackson. It's ok though for one viewing.
