Message:   This was an excellent piece I received in my mail that i had to share with all of you from a very good acquaintence of mine.
This is just one of the many "truths" you will not hear from factory farmers.
Here I will share just this one observation on this and let you deide:
"On the issue farm breeding. No matter whether a bird is parent raised or fostered under a different species, it is most critical that we don't over produce birds. Birds required to lay eggs or to lay and raise must not be placed under the pressure of laying more than 2 or 3 times in a season. This is a very draining activity for the bird, just like a human giving birth. When a hen lays eggs and when a male does his courtship dance, an immuno suppression occurs. Their immune system completely shuts down during the process and re-balances after completion. They are most vulnerable to germs and pathogens and cold fluctuations during this experience. After the 2nd or 3 rd time of laying eggs in a season the hen is at most risk of disease and death no matter how much she is supplemented with calcium, iodine and proteins. This needs to be remembered when people try to farm produce animals. The 4th and ongoing eggs will be produced by an immune compromised, tired hen that will only produce inferior quality embryos and in turn birds. So farm breeding will most likely create inferior birds no matter how good the parents were in health or stature. This is well documented and you can talk to any veterinarian about this as it relates to all animals and even poultry. Fostering under societies can lead to carrier diseases as mentioned earlier." I hope that this answers one of the biggest factory breeders contencious arguments about health and no difference in the health of their over worked hens and hens in general.

Thanks Friends :)
