Philip - We have always insured (since 1986) with Newton Crum. Follow the link to their website for more info. Tim |

Yes, I would echo Tim's recommendation for Newton Crum. We used them for years for various dinghies, and they settled our two claims to our complete satisfaction. Sorry Tim, but I feel they're not so good for Drascombes - having phoned round extensively, I think you'd find it hard to beat Aston Scott (the DA scheme). David |

Lots of threads about this in the past. Noble Marine is excellent but expensive - I use them for the 49er. We have made one claim & I couldn't fault their service. CraftInsure is cheap & easy to use. we have 4 other boats insured with them. I've never made a claim for these boats, so I'm not sure how good they are I'm guessing the likelyhood of breaking a Wayfarer is low, so a cheaper option is probably fine. |

boatinsure.co.uk is another online one. Simple to use but I haven't had to claim on them. |

You might want to check out the UK Wayfarer Association (UKWA) web site http://www.wayfarer.org.uk/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1 where they have a link to their affiliated insurance. http://www.wayfarer.org.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=73&Itemid=94 The UKWA is worth joining, in itself, and you get a degree of security when you insure with the approved insurers. Ours is covered on the household contents insurance with Ecclesiastical which happens to be through BIB in Darlington. We asked them the same question & it turned out for a modest fee we can be insured for any boat without a cabin up to 20' long kept on land for 3rd party damage & theft as long as it is locked up. It can be kept away from home for 90 days. If it is away from home it is supposed to be padlocked as well as behind a gate. This modest fee is about £45 for Laser 2 & Flying 15 |
