Brucey Series - Information and Questions Answered

Have you noticed the new Brucey series in your diary? (Bruce Forsyth? Generation Game? )

This is a new event to encourage Juniors to get on the water on a Sunday without being quite on their own.

In this series we are hoping double handed boats will have different generations on board - so that juniors can gain experience and confidence on the water.

Now, there can be problems with families being in the same boat, so we are suggesting some families can swap round, and juniorless adults can also volunteer for any junior who would prefer NOT to sail with a parent.

Mirrors and other smaller dinghies would be particularly suitable. The Junior can be helm or crew, but the more we have on the water the merrier, and for children that is the best way to enjoy being at the club. No one has to do the whole series - each day also stands on it's own.

The dates are 26th April, 25th May, 15th June, 20th July, 10th Aug, 21st Sep and 5th Oct. I am only available myself for June and August - but I am open to offers.

Do contact me if you have any questions or ideas, or if you are an adult looking for a lightweight crew.

It would be great we can get some more junior sailing happening and crewing while racing is a great way to learn.

Then we just need the weather to be considerate.....

Re: Brucey Series - Information and Questions Answered

Offer:
1 small to medium sized child sailor (boy variety)
Decent mass, but not yet Osprey weight (but give it a few years and I think he will be)
Has completed Stage 1 RYC.
Comes with own buoyancy aid and supply of chocolates (often enough to share).
Likes going whizzy woo.
Can talk (hindlegs off donkey)

Unfortunately has no boat to offer but will gladly crew for experienced helm...
